Observation details
This was the first time ever I heard that a Martial Eagle would take on the much bigger Kori Bustard. The Martial came flying in our direction behind the Kori Bustard. As soon as the Kori landed the first attack came. The Kori evaded the eagle with so much skill. This went on for almost an hour with numerous attacks. One set of photos where very close and I took some once in a lifetime images. When the kill happened they where a bit further away, but you can clearly see how the Martial regripped and took the Kori behind the head. It was all over 5-10 min later. Truly our most extraordinary sighting in birding ever!
