Observation details
Groups of 10 to 40 birds or flying over every few minutes. The total of 173 is likely vastly under counting the number of black crowned night herons that flew over. As it got darker, I heard numerous calls but could never actually see the birds so those groups went uncounted. Most were flying north east, sort of parallel to Coral Ave, and seemed to be moving in slow motion because of the strong wind. The rain had just stopped after being near constant for the last six or eight hours. Birds were seen while walking the streets near Lincoln and Coral Avenue
