Observation details
male first started calling at this time, to the Southeast of campsite 301. Single notes of its hoots, repeated every few minutes, but each time it called again it had moved a bit to the West (closer to my campsite). I recorded the call, in the key of E flat below middle C (male) and then at 9:08 the female called in response (higher pitched), then the male made more single notes added at the beginning before the regular call. This went on with the female returning a call about 1 of every 3 of his, at the beginning, then from around 9:30-10 she sang after his, and they were calling about every 10 seconds apart. I left the campfire and was tenting, so I could hear when they stopped calling, around 10 p.m. .wav file added, TURN SOUND UP, a few noises from holding the camera at first, then male called, then female.
