Observation details
Flushed from Grassy Island where the power poles are embedded. Spotted by Noah R and IDed by other folks in the group (I was busy facing the opposite direction squinting through my scope at a bunch of not-birds). Flew to the southeasternmost shoreline adjacent to the railroad grade where it joined a group of GREGs to forage/get away from us. ID Notes: Chonky dark ibis-shaped bird with iridescent feathers and no obvious blue facial markings. I confess we didn't do much due diligence in confirming this is not an extremely unlikely storm-blown immature White-faced Ibis...if folks with actual camera equipment can provide better photos, perhaps that will help seal the ID
