Observation details
This bird is a first record for the Cayman Islands and since Empidonax Flycatchers are particularly challenging to identify, I sent the photos to Denny Swaby in Florida who thought they were of a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. He kindly referred them to Steven Mlodinow for another opinion. Steven knows his flycatchers as well as anyone and this is his response, for which I am very grateful: "That's a Yellow-bellied Entirely green above, round eyering. Look at pic 4: the dark green auriculars contrasting sharply with the pale yellow throat and the broad olive-green vest on chest. Cheers! Steve."
