NOTES: (RRN: 90-19-09-18; Background Sounds: Western Meadowlark song; Sex: male?; Species Sound: frequent; Breeding Status: territorial; General Climate: arid; General Habitat: Great Basin Desert, sagebrush; Cover Density: sparse; Filtering: yes) ** - ***. Filter II on at 08. Mic test on 11. At least 8 consecutive individual Brewer's Sparrows were recorded along a nearly dry wash through the sagebrush. Each sat in the top of a sage and sang. Individuals were 40-70m apart except #8 was about 150m from #7. Sparrow #6 was a varied singer; I wonder if he learned components from a Song Sparrow. Mic filter changed to III at 14 marker. BNA: Short Song is heard. CZ 12/05/2004. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Montane Grassland, Desert, Pasture, Savannah.
