Observation details
Amazing! In cerrado limpo habitat we observed a nightjar on top of a 20/30cm high termite mount. Getting out of the car we realised this might be a WWN, but quickly saw it was at least not a male. Getting closer we were able to get pictures and it was a female WWN! We got it confirmed with friends in Paraguay and Brazil. Amazing, only the third record (11 September 1987 & 14 September 2003, both at Beni Biological Station), and the first female WWN ever recorded in Bolivia. This record is 167km away as the crow flies from Beni Biological Station.
