Male and female in loose duet (Myrmeciza ferruginea style); after break male sings followed almost immediately by female, then alternating some. After playback I attempt to show which is which during recording. Nice long cuts. Long announcement afterwards tries to clarify roles. Announcements are cut off at end of copy (Cohn-Haft #16) and continued onto reel #17. (Some notes re: M. atrothorax and Myrmothera campanisona at end, too.) Please include all subspecies information provided by Isler, Isler, Whitney, and Zimmer as part of their study on species limits in the Schistocichla complex of Percnostola antbirds (see Isler et al. 2007). The "How Identified" and "Confidence in Identification" values pertain to the recordist's original identification without subspecies name. -Matt Medler, 16 December 2009. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Schistocichla leucostigma leucostigma to Schistocichla leucostigma to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
