Observation details
After a recent unconfirmed report of a group of Double-striped Thick-knees at the Angostura lake ( August 2022), Turrialba, Cartago, I recalled that I had actually seen and photographed this species in March 2017 near the lake at CATIE university and had not created an Ebird list to record it. After a great deal of searching I have finally found the two photos I took as documentation, One a digiscoped photo of the bird and the other photo showing the landscape were you can see the bird standing in front of the admisnitrative principal building of CATIE. This report is not intended to attempt to validate the recent sighting but simply to highlight that previous records of the species in the area do exist, based on personal observation and supporting evidence. (March 22 2017)
