Observation details
Bit of a tricky ID in gale force winds. Small peep, with mud covered legs but visibly yellow-pale on the tibia. Rufous tones in several places, particularly the borders of the tertials and scapulars and light russet streaking in cap. Eyebrow quite pronounced and did not connect in the forehead. Chest mottled grayish. I considered the possibility of LT stint given its somewhat odd appearance (eg bold facial pattern), but the central toe doesn’t seem unusually long and I can’t see a pale base to the bill. Overall shape a bit hard to appreciate given the high winds. Sadly only phone scoped photos but covers most of these marks. Leg color better appreciated in person than here.
