Observation details
Wild refind by Nathan at Webster Lake of the same bird first located on August 22nd and only seen for an evening between Cup Pond, Saucer Pond, and Pumphouse Lake. First seen distantly from the road, but eventually great views were had. Given the skulky nature of Baikal Teal, it’s not entirely unsurprising that this bird went undetected for 25 days here. We do wonder if the storm yesterday perhaps shuffled birds around the island. Only time will tell if we see it again subsequently.
