Observation details
At first I thought this was a slam dunk Thayer's...but after looking extensively at pics I see that p10 appears to have a large white mirror extending to tip(no black subterminal band) and P5 lacks dark markings all together...Is this outside the variation of Thayer's Gull? I waited a long time for it to spread its wing and it never happened. Legs were also the same colour as HERG(not bubble gum purple) and beak was short and icelandy...would expect Thayer's gull beak to be perhaps longer with greenish base? ...I have sent this around for comment and it has been suggested that this is within range of Thayers in most parts of the country, I can forward the email conversation if need be.
