Observation details
Heard only. A semi-apology for a late report is somewhat in order here: While near the double bridge, I recorded a call unfamiliar to me that sounded somewhat like an Icterid veek call (HOOR and WEME make a modestly similar call). After seeing Brian Browne and Eddie Monson’s Pt Reyes report later that night, I considered Bobolink. It sounded and looked good, but I couldn’t be confident without more thorough comparison and research. So I posted it as a Blackbird sp. that night. Lucas Stephenson contacted me the following afternoon and called it a Bobolink. If memory serves, it was flying in the direction of upriver, toward Pomo Canyon. There were also a number of RWBL roosting nearby the road but out of sight between the double bridge and Pomo Canyon Campgrounds.
