Observation details
Observed flying in and landing in shallow water next to exposed mud flat, already occupied by Mallards and Wood Ducks. The Blue-winged Teal dived and splashed, with one male pecking several times at a probable female, then the four hauled out on the mud flat, with periodic wing-flapping and tail wagging. The mud flat is on the far west side of the pond, a little north of where Warren Road comes in, and adjacent to a large clump of wild rice grass. Warren Road probably does not afford a view of this area of the pond.
