Observation details
Midway up Hog Island Gut, at the entrance to one of the spurs off the main Gut. I found one that had just emerged from the reeds and paused for a few seconds before ducking behind some spatterdock. I stopped and waited for a few seconds and it had weaved its way to the forefront of the waterline/spatterdock where it emerged again. A few seconds later, another one peeked its head out while the first one was still out. Then a third one appeared with the other two. All 3 photographed. It appeared to be one adult and two juveniles.
