Observation details
A slow start to identify him this morning due to rain. Originally when we noticed the lighter colored tail hummingbird on August 30th, we thought we had two. Today I’m 80% sure we have two. The Rufus that was confirmed has distinct habits and a favorite feeder. As I watch, I’m trying to find him as he hangs with about 2 dozen Ruby throated hummingbirds. The rain seems to speed up their flying. Getting two in one photo would confirm, but so far impossible. The 2nd seems friendlier and isn’t guarding the feeder. Nonetheless, I can for certain confirm one. All are still welcome to visit our home and safely and respectfully view this beautiful hummingbird.
