Observation details
First bird was heard very clearly along the brushy swamp edge area on the gravel trail making low pitch "pip" calls which, when looking at the spectrograms and comparing with other eBird audio files, are consistent with Alder calls rather than Willow. The bird was only briefly seen flitting in the brush before it disappeared. Second bird was on complete opposite side of the area near the boggy creek area where trail goes into the woods, also giving pip calls. The bird responded to a playback of Alder calls and popped out briefly on a low down branch making "pip" sounds. We fought with this bird for a good portion of the time trying to get a picture, but the weather conditions were terrible and the bird was not cooperating. Have a very rough picture showing an Empid flycatcher with bright wing bars, rounded head, thin eye ring, medium primary projection. Will upload the audio files later.
