Observation details

I heard this bird calling from an elm about 4 houses north and then it flew south over my driveway and ended up in a big cedar across the street to the SE. The bird was calling every few seconds with short repetitive raspy chatter calls that would sometimes be given singly and sometimes in a short series. It also gave a high piercing whistle a few times. I didn’t see the bird particularly well since it was always in the sun. All I noticed it was a small, slim, yellow toned oriole with wingbars. I tried to get a recording with limited success (attached) and when I got off the roof and walked across the street the bird flushed to the south and out of sight.
