Observation details
*rare; ~10th Pribilof Islands record. One juvenile at the Salt Lagoon backwaters with a few Semipalmated Plovers, exactly where the 2018 bird was. Plovers seem to favor this specific area in August. I believe this species is most likely close to annual in fall on the Pribilof Islands, though easily undetected. Field marks: dark mask remained thick through the lores and extended below the gape, the inner toes showed no webbing at all and the outer toes showed reduced webbing, and the call note was textbook Common Ringed Plover, a more hollow sounding too-eee with more emphasis on the first note. It stood out from the nearby Semipalmated Plover calls.
