Observation details
About 10 minutes after my arrival someone spotted the bird on the left side of the marsh, flying above the tree line. It flew west and somewhat closer, then over the road and down below the trees. Minutes later it was seen flying high and heading east, at which point it was lost to view. It did not return while I was present (until 4:45pm). A long-winged and long-tailed raptor, larger then NOHA. Chocolate brown overall with whitish (pale) cap, and throat and dark line through the eye. Underparts mostly brown with a few white feathers and prominent pale shoulder. Bill dark, legs yellow. This bird was first spotted and ID'd yesterday morning on North Haven Island by Byron Swift and today by Evan Obercian at Weskeag Marsh.
