Observation details
Seen in little AM and most of PM. size of a Stellars Jay. Bright yellow on top of its beak. I think this is a male or else a colorful juvenile. Look how its colors blend with winter Ponderosa Pine, especially on a snowy day. I thought I might identify individuals by the white spot pattern on their backs but it appears the pattern changes depending on how the bird holds its wings. It or a relative is here everyday now, for about a month. Doesn't seem very successful but what do I know?
