Observation details
Walking to pond to paddle, heard initial call from bird and looked up to see it flying away from initial roost. Noticed streaks under tail, it continued calling for next 3 minutes. Using Merlin sound ID, it was picked up as northern goshawk. It had landed close by so I put my paddleboard down and walked towards where I could hear it repeatedly calling and spotted it right above me. I have great audio recordings and poor iPhone photos I will attach. While looking at it, it was calling across the field to another bird, which was also picked up as a northern goshawk. I did not observe the second one. Was able to see black crown and white eyebrow along with the streaked underside of tail.
