Observation details
Continuing bird, seen by multiple birders through the day. Seems to be stationed on a limb sticking out of the water about 20 yards from the shore of the peninsula by the playground on the southwest side of the lake. It would periodically circle the southern part of the lake hunting and making repetitive steep dives for fish, but then would always come back to the same limb in the lake. At one point, it was forced off of its preferred station by a Great Blue Heron, but after a short period of hunting it did come back and force the heron away. Multiple photos attached including perched, in flight and with the heron.
