Observation details
Foraging at the Ficus tree. Two pairs and singles moving around in the canopy, males chasing around each other, and occasionally the pairs as well. Later however activity fell when some of the birds departed. One individual was seen eating close together with a Blue-pigeon (see photos) without showing any of the interspecific aggression seen on previous days - might very well be a behavior confined to males only. Before sunset some pairs would gather in the mango tree next to the Ficus, with the first partner finding the perch producing some croaking advertising calls, inviting its partner to join them - with would indeed work since the other part of the couple would respond by seeking out its mate in between the foliage. Here the birds would rest higher (~12 meters) in the tree in the outer branches, sitting close together for the night.
