Observation details
***MEGA I originally followed a tip for a WEKI here, and also mis-identified it originally as a WEKI. The weight of the photographic evidence showed it was a clear CAKI. The bird did not allow exceptionally close approach. It remained in the area I posted until shortly after noon, when it took off and flew over the reservoir. It was the kind of flight that makes your heart sink, because it looks like it's not coming back. But there was one positive report from later in the afternoon, so maybe it returned. The coordinates again were 42.783828N x 70.955028W. This is Cherry Hill Reservoir, West Newbury Mass, bordered on 2 sides by Moulton St. Some atlases have it listed as simply "Reservoir" (Arrow). I think there are other names for it as well. It was in the horse farm mostly, on the north side of the lake where there is a convenient pull-out for parking. As indicated, there is a large McMansion on the hill above. Additonal photos at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeff_offermann/sets/72157628150289937/
