Observation details
Today, Aug 3, 2022, the news came that Eastern Meadowlark (Lilian's) was split into the full species, Chihuahuan Meadowlark. I came back to photos from this day to see if I had one of the new species, and lo and behold, here it is. Bird was molting, but is most likely Chihuahuan. Lots of white on the tail, no yellow in malar, spotty flanks, pale head patterns.
