Observation details
The highlight of the trip for me was spending a good five minutes or so watching the fantastic flock of Rainbows which moved in last month all gathering in one of the trees at the North End!! Unlike last time, they were actually quite low down, and very much at ease; they were either clambering about with their beaks as a kind of third limb once again, a trait very noticeable in Rainbows compared to Musks, or perching together in very tightly bunched and affectionate pairs, very gently and carefully preening each others brilliantly blue and powerfully built heads!!
