Baby Acorn Woodpecker in a nest followed by the sound of an adult at the nest who came to feed it.
Observation details
Found a nest cavity with a young bird in it, there might be more than one. A Woodpecker is guarding the nest from a branch above. Another one flew to the cavity and fed the young. Lovely sounds are coming from the nest. Another adult came to feed. Now a couple is watching the nest, see photo, they are obviously helpers, notice their blue eyes on the photos, it means that they are young birds. The young female is holding food in her beak that she will bring to the babies. It seems that the babies are fed insects, some large ones and also small pieces of acorn. The babies stay well hidden in the cavity and don’t pick their head out. The baby has blue eyes.
