Observation details
I realize that the odds this is a Black Throated Green warbler are slim to none -- but the song is a dead ringer for that species. I am assuming it is a Townsend's making the call -- I tried for nearly an hour to get a photo and without a photo this is an impossible ID to confirm. The bird was less than .2 miles from the trailhead roughly here 48.269351, -121.237043. If you get a photo let me know. :/ I did eventually use BTNW playback and the bird always sang back, but never came down from the canopy. This bird was also roughed up a bit by other birds making more conventional TOWA songs.
