Observation details
Initially saw a female perched on an ocotillo from far away, but swallow shape and white spotted chest on a dark bird were good enough for the ID. It moved to a spot closer to the trail and met with a male on a saguaro. The female flew off. The male stayed and made a lot of song noise as two other juveniles/females showed up and a gila woodpecker came to its nest to feed young. Have a great Merlin SoundID recording too! Near the tiny wash that is just west of the junction with the Golden Gate road (the multi-armed saguaro is adjacent to the trail and the only large one in the immediate vicinity). Although, not a lifer species (I've seen them only a few times so far), this was definitely the best look by far!
