Observation details
Continuing rarity. Singing infrequently from willow next to foot bridge across parking lot from restroom. It remained in center of thick shady willow hardly moving, mainly preening and giving a muted song, which revealed its presence. After about 40 minutes watching it with Janet Kelly, it got roused and began foraging in the same willow before it flew to nearby grove of ash, alder and large locust tree, where it continued the behavior of infrequent singing, foraging, and a lot of time preening from a shady limb. A very handsome warbler with blue-gray back and head, two white wing bars, white eye arcs, bright deep yellow throat, black bib, conspicuous orange lower bill, and white underparts.
