Observation details
On Middle Street, at the former Archibald Farms egg grading station, now a warehouse for Office Essentials. The three foot square chimney at the northwest corner of the building has been a know CHSW site. At 8:38 pm one swift entered the chimney, the other four disappeared for awhile but then returned and continued to fly about the area of the chimney. One of the birds was actually grabbing leafless twigs with its bill as it flew through the trees, it wasn't successful in taking a twig. The the rebound of the twig was quite evident as the bird flew of without the twig. At 9:15 it was too dull to see the chimney so we left, but the four swifts were still heard in the sky.
