Observation details
In with a flock of 25 Snow Geese in a field east of the east lagoon. The two mostly stayed close to each other and were both clearly smaller than the Snow Geese. I took photos but, but with all the feeding-related meandering and consequent "shuffling the deck" they were doing, I'm not sure I got photos of both. In addition to the size difference, my observations of the Ross's were: stubby bill with a straight vertical base and no grinning patch, grayish blue coloration at the bill base, a more rounded head shape than the Snows, and a shorter-necked appearance than the Snows. I did not see any features that suggest that either bird might be a hybrid.
