Observation details
/p Heading back from the rookeries, I saw a small dark bird flying by the boat. It was the first tubenose I had ever seen (other than the obscured view of a nesting fulmar earlier that morning). I eloquently shouted, "Tubenose!!" Even never having seen one before, it was pretty obviously a storm-petrel. David opined that it was probably a Wilson's, but the picture I took pretty clearly demonstrates that it was a Leach's. We also had distant views of storm-petrels on the ferry back from Labrador, but too far to ID.
