Observation details
*Rare. Yet apparently an uncommon but established breeder at this location, which contains vast amounts of suitable breeding habitat. Just purely from a habitat perspective, you would expect to find them here. This is very likely the northernmost breeding location for Prairie Warbler in NYS. Three birds singing in distinct territories near the Skeleton Dam. I watched two separate birds aggressively chase a Pine Warbler and a Chipping Sparrow. Bright, mostly yellow warblers with distinct black semi circle under eye, dark spot on sides of neck and black streaked sides. Rufous streaks on back. Photos and audio obtained.
