Observation details
Calling in the large overstory tree above the Juan Grande Bridge. It looked to be clutching a large-winged insect (likely a cicada) during this time. Unfortunately, it was facing away from us so we couldn’t make it out very well. I speculated that it was either begging or trying to attract an offspring to feed (?).
