Media notes
Precise number of individuals hard to estimate in pre-dawn twilight but at least 4, possibly more. I could hear multiple individuals calling from any direction I pointed my mic. Display songs started around 5:10am. Cut 1 - from the tents. Cut 2 - from the neighboring pasture away from the chickens. I recorded three sound types which generally overlapped with one another because multiple birds were calling but once or twice when a single bird did a display flight while singing (e.g. 03m43s). Good examples of each are as follows; display song - 7m19s calls (much like North American Colaptes) - 6m31s non-vocal flight display - 03m43s (while giving display song) They seemed to fly to a new location after each song bout. All displays and calls stopped after 5:45am
