Observation details
Black and white warbler with black/white striped crown, back, flanks. Curved bill, black spotting on undertail coverts. Found the warbler creeping along tree trunks and branches...traveling with PIWA and WRWA. Watched this bird for long time and often at a distance of 30ft or less. Took about 30 pics with iPhone and they were all bad. Walked back home and got a real camera. Came back and relocated the bird but by this time it had moved much higher up in trees. Managed a few poor but diagnostic photos. My first winter sighting of this species in the piedmont.
