Media notes

First cycle first year first winter gull. Light colored rump and under tail coverts. Bicolored bill. Very few California records for this species and none(?) for first winter age group. This photo shows white rump and under tail coverts. Black tail band. dark uppers. pink and black bill. Lighter colored lores forehead and chin. Scaly and more white than dark mantle.

Observation details

photos bad but helps to support sighting. Dark gull with bicolored bill (pink base and black (1/5) tip). White a on belly a few inches in front of legs and behind legs. Black band on tail. Spent the entire time looking for this bird so this is not a complete list.
