Observation details
Seen on the Agave Trail on Alcatraz Island, preening and walking along the edge of the fence line. Tried to take flight a few times but seemed to have some trouble. Eventually walked too close to a WEGU nest and adults begin to divebomb, which drove the booby closer and eventually on to the WEGU nest with chicks, after which adults harassed booby into flying out over the water. Went about 500 feet into water before nosediving, and ~10 WEGU adults continued to harass it until it had floated east out of sight. Photo IDed by Matt Sadowski and Nathan Goldberg as a Nazca due to the darker orange tones in the bill.
