Observation details

Surprisingly, I heard and recorded a Philadelphia Vireo about 500 m E and downhill from the bird that I recorded on June 5. Today's bird also sang only 5 distinct phrase types, but all were different from the 5 phrase types recorded on June 5. However, one of this bird's phrase types was identical to the 2nd and 3rd syllables of a phrase type sung by the bird on June 5. Again, a Red-eyed vireo was singing nearby for some of the time that I was recording this bird, and neither took notice of the other. Unfortunately, despite much effort, I could not see this bird, high up in poplar trees in a steep part of forest. Excerpt from recording pasted below under media.
