Media notes

Song (not single-note call, not position note) typical of apparent intergrades that seem to predominate in this region. Second part of song distinctly higher pitched and two-parted, not slurred together as in pure COFL (see song spectrograms from places like Colorado). This bird also gives a position note call at 8 sec.

Observation details

Audio. Similar to other intergrade song recordings from this region.

Additional species

  • Northern House Wren Troglodytes aedon
  • Western Wood-Pewee Contopus sordidulus
