Observation details
Absolutely insane cacauphony of at least two but possibly 3 adults calling and interacting with each other. Quite a ways away from the spot where I'd seen the owlings, but perhaps not as the Barred Owl flies. I was quietly recording NOWA and Veeries when I heard a few faint "who cooks for you? who cooks for you allll?", and my eyes went 😳 as a second responded right behind me, not 30 feet away (but in a dense canopy). They moved closer together and then kept moving further afield, and eventually the Blue Jays caught on and started mobbing one of them. Saw one in a nearby area about an hour later, and it didn't appreciate my presence.
