Observation details
First cycle plumage. Found by Steve Turley at what locals called John Denver Beach; ID was a collective effort by our group (Tom Wurster, Andrew & Vernon Howe), and the Turley group (Steve & Becky Turley and Nancy Stang). Many observers over next two hrs. Photos. Bill Hill arrived during ID discussion and assisted by sending his photos to Brian Sullivan (& Blake Matheson?) for ID confirmation; Mark and Lucas Stephenson also present while ID discussion was in progress and reported they had seen this bird at this location the day before, but ID'd it as a aberrant California Gull.
