Observation details
Adult male. At one point, along the side of the loop that parallels the river, I heard dry icterid chattering from one of the shrubs on the far bank. I had just seen a Red-wing Blackbird in the limbs of a sycamore on my side of the river, and it sounded similar; but I figured I'd wait to see if I could get glass on it. After ~ five minute wait, the adult male bird flew across the river and into one of the nearby ancient apple trees where I got great looks in the full sun for 10ish seconds. It then flew up into a sycamore, then spent the next five or so minutes calling (but not singing) from two different trees. Underside and rump the distinct chestnut/brick color, mantle/tail/hood/wings all black, gunmetal blue base of the lower bill also seen well. I'll upload audio recording of the squeak calls. I heard it make the same squeak calls several times once it was back on the other bank, but it never sang.
