Media notes
Third recording, while walking around the Gill source area. Merlin identified Red-Eyed Vireo, House Sparrow, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, House Finch, Common Grackle, and Philadelphia Vireo. After this, I gave up recording and just tried to get a look at the bird(s). No luck.
Observation details
I saw a report from Liam that there was a Philadephia Vireo singing over the Gill, and a few minutes later a followup that Bob had come through the area blasting playback and the bird had of course gone silent. About a half-hour later I was at Azalea Pond and heard a vireo singing somewhere around the source of the Gill. It sounded a little off for REVI, so I turned on Merlin, and it identified both Philadelphia and Red-eyed vireo. This puzzled me, since I thought I only heard one bird, but a second attempt yielded the same result. I walked around the area with the app on, trying to get closer and hoping for a look, but failed in that, although the app again reported two vireos. I attach the Merlin recordings, with notes. Any opinions about this would be appreciated. It seems to me there is seems a second, softer and high, singer.
