Media notes
About 30 minutes farther up the road, we encountered 2 more male Lattice-tailed Trogons and watched at least one female foraging nearby. Here are two consecutive cuts of the closest male, singing from fairly high in good forest. The 2nd male answers in the distance. Insect noise has increased now, but in the second cut the bird is close, resulting in a good recording. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
We were seeing them in groups—of 3 or 4 birds in the same area—in at least 3 areas of good forest separated by more than a km from each other. The males were singing (recordings), the female-plumaged birds calling some and foraging nearby.
