Observation details
Broad white superciliares that join completly (maintain same width) on the nape (see photos) are the reason for reporting this immature bird (cinnamon edges to wing feathers; orange commisure) as a White-ringed Flycatcher but we still wonder if this could occur with a young Social Flycatcher moulting? The beak does not look to be larger than the beak of a Social. The only thing we are sure of is that this bird was not a Kiskadee. It was observed by both of us in the open at close range (< 5m) for about one minute. The size (and the beak) exclude Great Kiskadee.
