Sometimes the bird would swim out in the open to catch small fish
Observation details
First heard a couple calling. At one of the platforms, we ran into a family who was watching one swimming in a pond surrounded by reeds. It would walk around in the reeds, then swim out in the open and catch some small silvery animal and retreat to the reeds to eat it, then swim back in the open and catch another one. After we watched this for about 15 minutes, it finally disappeared into the reeds. Later, we heard another.
