Observation details
Very odd encounter from the Hellcat boardwalk spur that overlooks the Atlantic on the dunes. The bird was walking in the open through the ground-cover scrub and occasionally in the open spots until it reached the bushes and disappeared. Observed over a 50 foot distance as it ambled. Photos. Given the date it must nest nearby?!
